What do I need to know about Mexican customs?

When you arrive at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), you will go through Mexican immigration and customs:

  • Fill out a customs declaration form on the plane
  • Declare any goods, cash over $10,000 USD, or restricted items
  • After collecting your luggage, press a button at customs — green light means you're free to go, red light means a brief inspection
  • Mexico allows approximately $500 USD per person in duty-free goods for air arrivals
