# Is Cabo San Lucas safe to visit?

Yes — Cabo San Lucas is one of Mexico's most visited and well-established resort destinations, welcoming millions of international visitors each year. The Los Cabos corridor is recognized as a secure tourism zone with a strong international presence and professional tourism infrastructure.

**An important distinction:** Cabo San Lucas is located in **Baja California Sur** — a completely separate state from Baja California Norte. These are two different states with meaningfully different conditions. News coverage about crime in northern Baja California Norte does not apply to Baja California Sur.
