# What currency is used in Mexico? Will USD be accepted?

Mexico's official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas of Cabo San Lucas. For the best value, use a local ATM to withdraw pesos or exchange currency at your hotel or a bank. Avoid airport exchange kiosks, which typically offer the worst rates.
